I’m 24 this year, and I’ve got this dream whereby by the time I hit 25, I would have enough to get married, get an apartment and raise a family. I had intended to do this by purchasing into an affiliate program.
I followed the steps, purchased the necessary advertising and waited. Alas, those steps were outdated as many people were 3 steps ahead of me, building their lists, maintain relationships and keeping track of the market’s movements.
Oh, how naive I was. But my eyes opened slowly and I discovered a limitless world, where communication paths were so vast we could talk with those halfway around the world. Even better, we could sell them something! Buying from and selling to the millions who are online with extremely little capital! My goodness!
When I explained to my parents this new world I’d discovered, their eyes glazed over, having no idea what I was saying. That was the old world they lived in, unaware of the vast treasures that you can uncover online.
I am schooled in the ways of the computers, yet I feel like a small child when watching the way the world is growing.
But I digress. This rant is about the building of businesses, and this blog is specifically about building an online business.
Why build businesses? Why not just settle for the little streams of income that come from the different methods of Internet Marketing?
Because people are building their businesses online. They are getting organised, systemized, and when they are ready, they can market their products effectively to the millions in a matter of hours rather than the months it would take newbie marketers to achieve.
One of my heroes is Rich Schefren, who isn’t an online guru per se, but he’s a business teacher. He has personally mentored many Internet Marketers and brought them to success without breaking the bank or their personal drive.
If you’re a standard IMer, you would know that if you truly wanted to succeed, you would need to maintain a list, create a product, test the sales page, prepare affiliate programs, settle tax issues, handle joint venture partners and their cut of the sale, etc…
And that would be at least 3/4 of your day to keep up with. If your site is larger with more subscribers, you would have no time at all to spend with your family.
Wouldn’t that be ironic? I mean, the reason you joined IM in the first place is to stop working for your boss who’s driving you up the wall and keeping you away from your family. What happens when you are your own boss? How do you quit from yourself?
What I would like to do today is to share a resource with you. I’ve been on Rich Schefren’s mailing list for a while now and he’s been providing me with superior information that I believe can help anyone. No matter if you’re running an online business or a standard brick-and-mortar business, you can definitely gain from his advice.
Here’s the link to these resources. May you use them wisely.
